16 ‘NPP thugs’ convicted and sentenced to a fine of GH¢2,400
The Achimota District Court has convicted the 16 accused individuals responsible for the invasion of the United Television studios on October 7, 2023, guilty and sentenced them to a fine of GH¢2,400 each with (200 penalty units).
On October 7, 2023 United Television management and the Ministry of Information reported that the guilty individuals had invaded the UTV Studios and interfered with a live broadcast. The Police then went ahead and arrested the individuals at UTV.
On October 16, 2023, they were charged with invading the property with an unlawful intent and arraigned for court.
The court later found them guilty after an admission to the charges.
Additionally, the court made them to sign a bond promising to behave themselves, or face a penalty of six months in jail.
