Ghana Premier League: Ephson strike as FC Samartex pip Aduana at Nsenkyire Arena
Football Club Samartex 1996 enjoyed from their first transfer window recruitment as Michael Ephson gifted the only goal of the game to ensure a 1-0 victory against Aduana Stars at the Nsenkyire Sports Arena on Sunday, September 17, 2023 in match day one of the betPawa Premier League.
The Timber Giants handed debut starts to Samuel Tetteh, Ebenezer Ocran, Michael Ephson and Baba Hamadu Musa against the former Ghana Premier League winners.
The move yielded an instant impact as Michael Ephson who joined from Division zone League side, Nzema Kotoko opened the scorecards and what happened to be the only goal of the game on the 33rd minute.
Baba Hamadu Musa made an instant impact and should have scored a goal of his own after he was played through by Emmanuel Keyekeh on the 36th minute only to be brought down on the edge of the Aduana Stars penalty box.
Musa Hamadu approaching the first half whistle dribbled past two and teed Keyekeh this time but the former Karela United and Asante Kotoko midfielder saw his strike go wide off the goal.
FC Samartex 1996 held it tight at the back and allowed few chances for the Dormaa-based side as the game came to an end.
