Koopman needs time and support – Hearts’ legend Polo
In response to mounting criticism of Hearts of Oak head coach Martin Koopman, former Ghana Premier League legend Mohammed Polo has defended the Dutch coach and pleaded with fans to be patient with him.
According to him, Koopman needs time and the players will also have to adapt to his system to start getting results.
“I would urge all the supporters to be patient with the coach. What he needs now is their support. He needs time. If he can’t change things around, then they should let him go. Looking at the team.
”It is full of youthful players, and I’m sure they would not want to replicate what happened last season when they were almost relegated. Let’s give them time.”he told happy fm.
Prior to the start of the 2023/2024 Betpawa Ghana Premier League season, the Phobians hired Koopman as their head coach on a one-year contract, however he has come under fire after managing just one victory in his first four games.
Hearts of Oak, who are currently occupying the 16th spot in the Premier League standings with 4 points after 4 games wining 1,losing 2 and drawing 1.
Coach Koopman and his team are under increasing pressure as they prepare for their matchday five match against Heart of Lions at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope. Hearts of Oak are anxious to get back to winning and move up the league standings.
