CAF CL Report: Medeama secure slim win against Remo Stars
Ghana Champions, Medeama Sporting Club secured a slim 1-0 win courtesy, Jonathan Sowah in the 22nd minute at the Cape Coast Stadium on Sunday to secure a shaky first leg advantage ahead of the return encounter in a fortnight.
The 15,000 capacity stadium saw nearly a third full as the two teams kicked off in front of the boisterous crowd. It was a shaky start from both ends that opted for a 4-4-2 in defense and 4-2-4 as the attacking option.
Medeama Sporting Club were pinned briefly in the early hours of the game; Atinga Vincent rose highest to defend a corner kick and Felix Kyei came to the rescue after parrying away strike from about 30 meters away.
It was the time for the Mauves and Yellows enabling an incredible quick passes and Derrick Fordjour felled just few meters off the Remo’’s penalty area and Jean Vital quick started the play and set up Johnathan Sowah who fired in an outstanding effort to score the game’s opener.

The betPawa Premier League opted for a 4-2-4 transition and could have secured the cushioning yet try as they did the Nigerians stood between them and goal.
The second half produced no clear cut opportunities to either side, but Remo Stars startled Medeama at the dying embers of the game with some key passes and exchanges.
Johnathan Sowah and his first half strike aided to Medeama’s advantage going into the second leg in a week’s time.
