Andy Yiadom features as Reading bow out of EFL Cup

Ghanaian international defender Andy Yiadom climbed off the bench to play 45 minutes for his club Reading in their 2:2 home draw with Ipswich Town in the English EFL Cup round 2 and followed up with a 3-1 loss on spot kicks.

Reading was eliminated from the competition after a 3:1 penalty shootout and was rated 6.7.

The 31-year-old Ghanaian right back has played for Watford, Barnsley, Brintree, Bannet, and currently Reading.

Reading confirmed him in 2022 as the new team captain, and he had previously been the skipper of Barnsley

Andy Yiadom is also one of the senior players on the Reading team, with his new contract set to tie him to the Royals for at least seven years. The defender has 26 caps for Ghana without a goal.
