Asante Kotoko pulls out of GHALCA top 4 tournament
Asante Kotoko have withdrawn from the 2023 GHALCA Top 4 Competition slated for August 6 to August 13 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, Kwamefilla.com can confirm.
The First Four teams in the 2022/23 Betpawa Premier, namely Champions, Medeama SC, Aduana Stars, Bechem United and Asante Kotoko were billed to partake in this year’s edition at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi.
But with the recent happenings at the camp of the Porcupine Warriors; dissolution of the board and others has forced them to pull out and tackle those pressing needs in order to get themselves ready for next season.

In an interview with Kumasi-based Akoma FM, the Chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) Kudjoe Fianoo have confirmed Kotoko’s withdrawal and the way forward.
“Yes, it is no more a rumour, we received an official letter from Kotoko yesterday which stated that they can’t participate in the tournament and as we are all aware of the current situation of Kotoko, it’s not a deliberate decision to sabotage the tournament but a genuine one and we have accepted their request.”
