CAF CL: We won’t return home empty handed – Medeama’s Adotey on Remo tie

Augustine Evans Adotey, Head Coach of Ghana’s representative in the 2023/24 Confederation of African Football’s Champions League, Medeama Sporting Club has assured the teeming supporters and Ghanaians that his outfit will do whatever possible to qualify for the next stage of the competition as they take on Remo Stars of Nigeria on Sunday in the 2nd leg First Preliminary round.

Medeama SC won the first leg 1:0 courtesy a 22nd minute goal by Jonathan Sowah in a goal mouth-mealy.

The Mauve and Yellows will have to double their efforts in the second leg at the Remo Stars Stadium when they come face to face in their quest to make it to the money zone of the competition.

Speaking to the media at the post match press conference session, the experience gaffer who masterminded Medeama Sc maiden Ghana Premier League title last season believes that even though his side played against a well-compose team in Remo Stars and won by a slim margin, they will not be kicked out of the competition.

“We have just one week to prepare for the second leg against Remo Stars, all that we need to do is go back and look at our weak part and draw up a strategy against the Nigerians”

“I have nothing to say that this is how we are going to play, but is a matter of making sure we protect our one goal, we go in there and fight for a win or we can defend and qualify with the one goal, but trust me we will not come to Ghana from Nigeria with empty hands”

Medeama Sc will take on Remo Stars on Sunday at the Remo Stadium at 4pm local time.
