Dreams FC Gaffer Aims for CAF CC Group Stage
Dreams FC takes on Milo FC of Guinea, next week in the CAF Confederation Cup and their head coach Karim Zito has set a goal for his team to advance to the group stage of the CAF Confederation Cups.
The national under-20 coach claims that in order to accomplish this, he is going into the first leg with the intention of either playing for a draw or a win and applying a different strategy to scoop up the most points in the return leg.
The Dreams FC coach acknowledged in an interview with Graphic Sports that he would be guiding a group of players with little experience in continental competition but was encouraged by their resolve to make their mark on the nation’s football history.
“It won’t be easy but we’ll work hard to stand the test of time because we also want to do something to elevate the image of the club and that of the president, so we are not going to Africa just for the sake of it but to make an impact”, he said.

“We didn’t start last season’s league well and I didn’t start it, but I came to finish it. Afterwards we did evaluation of the league and we saw where we went wrong and where we went right. When we were threatened with relegation we sat down and asked ourselves how do we elevate ourselves from that situation”, he stated.
Coach Zito rejected the idea that their lackluster performance in the Premier League the previous season could hurt their chances, claiming that even when they were predicted to be relegated, they came back strongly to earn themselves a place in the CAF Confederations Cup
Coach Zito expressed disappointment in their preparation despite having played a few test matches prior to the game and the local teams’ refusal to include them in pre-season friendly on the grounds that they were unprepared, but he affirms that it will hurt their prospects.
