GFA launches Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League 2023/24

The 2023/24 Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League season was formally launched on Wednesday, October 11, by the Ghana Football Association and headline sponsor Malta Guinness Ghana.

Executives from the Ghana Football Association and  Malta Guinness Ghana  as well as  officials from each of the 20 clubs who will participate in the next season were present at the unveiling, which was held at the Fitzgerald in Accra.

Gifty Oware-Mensah, President of Berry Ladies and a newly elected Executive Council member of the GFA, spoke at the launch  and expressed  joy about the growth of the women’s game over time.

Felicite Nson, the managing director of Guinness Ghana Limited, also stated that the company is anticipating another exciting season following its success in the 2022/2023 campaign.

“During the first season, we saw the massive support from fans and determination from these incredibly talented young athletes during the games.This really shows how Women’s football is taking its much-deserved place in the hearts and minds of the people.

“I am thrilled to share why the upcoming second season of this partnership is poised to be even better than the first.I must acknowledge that we have made some significant progress and through your continued and unwavering support, we will make giant strides and raise the flag of Ghana even higher” she stated.

October 27–30, 2023 will mark the beginning of the next  Malta Guinness  Women’s Premier League season.
