Jerome Opoku receives maiden call-up to Black Stars

English born-Ghanaian Jerome Opoku, has received a late call-up from the Ghana Football Association on Wednesday, October 11, ahead of friendlies against the United States and Mexico.

He is the replacement of Fernabache centre-back Alexander Djiku.

Jerome Opoku, who is now on loan from Portuguese side Arouca to Istanbul Başakşehir in Turkey, brings his talent to the squad.This season, he has played four of Istanbul Basaksehir’s league games and has one goal to his name.

Jerome Opoku is expected to join the Black Stars team today,Wednesday, October 11, 2023, in the United States.

Ghana will play two friendlies the first on October 14 against Mexico and later travel to Nashville,Tennessee to play against USA on October 17,2023.
