Nana Kobina Nketsia V endorses Dr Koby Spio-Garbrah as new Executive Chairman of Eleven Wise FC

In his capacity as the life patron of one of Sekondi 11 Wise FC, one of Africa’s oldest football clubs, Nana Kobina Nketsia V, has endorsed the appointment of Dr Koby Spio-Garbrah as the club’s new Executive Chairman replacing Ambassador Joseph Ackon and Nana Kaku Bulu, otherwise known as Mr James Kainyah (‘Nana JamK).

In a solemn and colourful ceremony at the Essikado Omanhene’s Palace, Nana Nketsia thanked the outgoing management team led by Ambassador Joseph Ackon and Nana Kaku Bulu, (Mr James Kainyah, popularly known as Nana JamK) for the tireless sacrifices over the past three years to stabilise the affairs of the 104 year old club, and urged the new management team to build on the successes of the outgoing management team.

Nana Nketsia charged Dr Koby Spio-Garbrah, Global Managing Director of DaMina Advisors and the younger generation of business leaders of the Sekondi and Essikado traditional of the Western Region area to accelerate efforts to turnaround the fortunes of the club, which has in recent years been related to Division 2. Nana Nketsia lamented the poor state of the Essipong Stadium and called for concerted action to revitalise the 20,000 seat stadium that was opened in 2008 but has in recent years fallen into disuse.

Dr Koby Spio-Garbrah, recently a candidate in the Essikado Ketan Constituency parliamentary polls, promised to draw on his vast global management and investment advisory experiences to help build on the work of his predecessors to revitalise the club.

Dr Spio-Garbrrah thanked the 11 member management team and has since named a Transition Team consisting of: Mr Joseph Adjei, Mr Eugene Baidoo and Ms Gloria Nyarkoh to assist with a smooth transition and preparation of a new management team for the 2023/24 season.
