René Hiddink: Hearts’ new Technical Director meets players
René Hiddink, the newly appointed Hearts of Oak Technical Director, appeared at the Pobiman Training Sports Complex on Tuesday, August 1, 2023. He met the players on preseason opening day.
Mr. Hiddink’s arrival comes after his recent appointment, together with Sebastian Barnes as head of scouting, on Sunday, July 31.
Hiddink warmly greeted the players as he met them for the first time, shaking hands and exchanging pleasantries with them. His presence brought excitement and anticipation among both players and fans.
Other coaches who will help the Dutch tactician are Jerry Adjei Asare, who will be the new goalkeeper’s trainer. Carlos Klu will serve as the welfare officer, ensuring the players’ well-being and morale.

The players were guided through drills and fitness exercises by fitness coach Jordan Daitey. The players who reported for the first day of pre-season training include Eric Esso, Enoch Asubonteng, Kojo Obeng Junior, Richard Attah, Hamza Issah, Richmond Ayi, and Issah Kuka, among others.
