Resist interference in your work – Kwesi Appiah to Ghana coaches
Head Coach of Sudan national team and Ghana Football Association’s Executive Council Member, James Kwesi Appiah has urged the various Ghana national team coaches to be firm in their selection of players and avoid any interference in their work.
According to the former Black Stars Coach any coach who is dictated for is not capable of coaching the national team and such coaches will never have his respect.
“If you are a coach and you allow yourself to be dictated to then, I will have a problem. It is not appropriate for anybody to do that but if it happens and you the coach bow to that, from that time, I will respect you again and I will conclude that you don’t know your job because once you accept the influence, the player call ups will be determined by them.”he told Asempa Fm
“As a national team coach, you must stand by your decision. We see that at the club side because that is a developing area but not at the national team,” he added.
James Kwesi Appiah is the first local coach to lead the Black Stars to the World Cup.He now serves the country as an Executive Council Member at the Ghana Football Association representing Kumasi Asante Kotoko as their technical director.
