Richard Boadu Agadas trains with his new club, Al Ahly Benghazi for the first time

Former Asante Kotoko skipper Richard Boadu trained with his new club, Al Ahly Benghazi of Libya, for the first time.

On Friday, July 28, 2023, the Kumasi-based club announced that an agreement had been reached regarding the midfielder’s sale to Libyan side Al Ahly.

Asante Kotoko resigned the 25-year-old midfielder from Medeama in 2021 after he played for Kotoko’s youth side. He won the Ghana Premier League in his debut season.

In his last season with the club, the skipper finished the season with the most tackles in the team and the most duels won. He also scored two goals and assisted on five others, as well as winning eight man of the match awards.

Boadu quickly rose to captain status after the departure of former skipper Abdul Ganiyu Ismail. Boadu made 60 appearances for the porcupine warriors before leaving for Libya.
