Munashy Foundation, a non profit organization in Takoradi of the Western Region of Ghana on Saturday September 2, 2023 organized a fair to celebrate Widows in the Sekondi-Takoradi Metropolis at the Takoradi Mall.
The over 50 Widows who came to the event were taken through activities like Free Health Screening, Health lnsurance Registration, Presentation of Gifts and Food as well as Counseling sessions.
Speaking to the media at the event, Munashy a Media Personality with EIB Network Subsidiary in the Western Region Empire FM/Radio 360, who is the brain behind this wonderful project revealed the rational for birthing the project:
“Munashy Foundation is a non- governmental organization , our purpose is to put smiles of our widows, the less privilege and the orphans in the Society”
The reason why we established this particular organization is to put smiles on the faces of our widows because we came out with the realization that this people go through a lot of hardship.
Just imaging some one living with a husband, the hardship that the person goes through and some one without a husband where the person doesn’t know if she will get married again so we brought out this organization for them to give them hope.
Because some of them sometimes they want to give up in life because they think they are the only person taken care of the kids and is too much for them and so is better they leave the World and all that, so we want to give them hope, our slogan is” Giving hope to the hopeless” , this is the reason behind the establishment of this organization”.
“Also Our vision is to go beyond Western Region, we want to go extra and extra across the country and possibly across the globe because we know there are widow, orphans and some other less privilege people all over the places so we want to go beyond Western Region to put smiles on their faces”
“Initially we wanted to serve just 30 people but the number was over 50 glory be to God we were able to serve all of them with Food, Health screening and Health Insurance and we gave them food and a lot of items thanks to Promasido for giving us Yomvita for the widows.
She used the opportunity to commend all the media partners and people who supported this kind gesture and appealed to the public to come to their aid with support.
