Tarkwa and Aboso Stadium will be commissioned in November – Hon. Mireku Duker reveals
BetPawa Premier League Champions Medeama Sporting Club, have declared their aim to commission their new stadium in time for the remainder of their 2023/2024 CAF Champions League campaign.
Medeama had played their qualification home games at the Cape Coast Stadium due to ongoing redevelopment at their own stadium.
George Mireku Duker, a member of parliament for Tarkwa Nsuaem, has revealed to the media that the team has set a goal of opening the new 10,000-seat stadium by the end of November.
“We will be commissioning our stadium also by November ending, and we are using this platform to invite you to Tarkwa,” he emphasized.
“By the grace of God, we shall play our first match of the group stage in Tarkwa.”he said.
Due to the extensive reconstruction work at the TNA Park over the previous two seasons, Medeama have made Akoon Park their home stadium. They will finally be returning to their favorite base.
After overcoming Horoya of Guinea in two games last month, Medeama have qualified for the competition’s group stage with a 4-3 aggregate victory.
