UWCL: Princella Adubea scores as Kiryat Gat advance to semifinals

Princella Adubea was on target for Israeli side, Kiryat in the quarterfinals stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League with 3-1 penalty shootout advantage over Ferencvaros after the regulation time and extra time ended 2-2 draw.

Adubea had the advantage over her Black Queens teammate Vivian Adjei Konadu who starred for opposition side, Ferencvaros and came on in the second half of the game.

Ferencvaros’ Hungarian national Fanni Vago scored the game’s opener on the 14th minute and the lead was canceled by Brazilian national Dany Helena five minute after to bring the first half to 1-1.

The second half produced no goal and Kiryat were reduced to ten players following a red card to Bruinerra Aruida in the 60th minute.

The game advanced to the extra time and Vivian Konadu’s Ferencvaros took the lead on the 112th minute courtesy Diana Nemeth which didn’t last and was canceled by Princella Adubea two minutes later.

After the 30 minutes extra time penalty shootout was resorted to settle the score between the two teams the the Cypriot side secured a 3-1 advantage to the semifinals stage.

Kiryat Gat will face Olympic Cluij on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
