Akufo-Addo Declines Invite As Guest For National Science And Maths Quiz Finals

Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has said that President Akufo-Addo has declined the invite as a guest and will not be at the National Theater to watch the NSMQ finals.

Instead, the information minister will be representing the president. In the video shared on X, Oppong-Nkrumah said, “I will go there personally to represent the President of the Republic and chair the three teams.”

The National Science and Mathematics Quiz (NSMQ) finals are scheduled for today Monday, October 30, 2023.

In a flyer shared on the organizing committee’s official X page, President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was initially announced as a special guest of honor at the NSMQ finals.

Following this announcement, social media users flooded the NSMQ X page with reactions, describing Akufo-Addo as a source of concern for Ghanaian youth.

Some users of Fixthecountry also hinted that they would boo him during the event.
