Newly crowned Ghana Football Association Executive Committee member and Head Coach of Sudan Senior national men’s team, James Kwesi Appiah has won his first game in charge with a 1-0 victory over Chad on Tuesday.

At the King Fahd Sport City Stadium in Saudi Arabia, where they are currently based, Sudan defeated Chad 1-0 after going winless in their previous four games.

The former Black Stars coach was hired earlier this month as Sudan’s head coach and signed a three-year deal with the main objective of reviving football in Sudan.

Ignatius Osei Fosu, formerly of Dreams FC ,and former Black Stars goalkeeper Fatau Dauda, who is working as the goalkeeper’s trainer, are two fellow Ghanaians that support him as assistant coaches.

Sudan are looking forward to qualify for the 2026 World Cup and will face DR Congo and Togo next month.
