GNPC Foundation commission six unit classroom block at Atobiase

The Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Foundation(GNPC) have commissioned a fully furnished six unit classroom block at Atobiase in the Wassa East District, Western Region on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

The Atobiase DA Basic School project commenced somewhere 2021 was completed in January 2023 as disclosed by as disclosed by the Contractor, James Opoku Bossman of Jobs Engineering Works Limited.

The new six unit classroom block has a seating capacity of 216 seats with each of the six classrooms having two sealing fans, and has an electrical installation to help with studies even at dark time.

In the handing over of the facility, Dr. Dominic Eduah, the Executive Director of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation Foundation charged the school to ensure the facility is handled properly so it can inspire the foundation to assist with more especially the request by the Chief of the land, Nana Kweku Bruku II to provide a senior high school in the town.

“In all the places we’ve been to, during this time our message is one, if you want to ask for more then you ensure the ones you have a well taken care of.

“So, let’s do well to ensure this facility is well maintained” – Mr. Eduah said.

Nana Kweku Bruku II shared his joy for having such a facility intact and charged the students to make good use of the facilities available since even the old one, despite its defected state was contributing to the massive results in the Basic Education Certificate Examination.

“All the 160 students that sat for the Basic Examination Certificate Exams passed the last time and we had 13 attaining the top grades.

“If they were able to do that in the old defected building then surely they can do better in this new one, but more importantly, we want to groom them here and not have to resort to other towns for senior high education” – he said.
