Hearts of Oak, Hearts of Lions game postponed
The Ghana Football Association has postponed the Betpawa Ghana Premier League match between Heart of Lions and Hearts of Oak for match week five.
The match, which was originally set for Sunday, October 15, 2023, has been postponed due to the Akosombo Dam spillage, which has had an impact on the Sogakope community.
Both Accra Hearts Of Oak and Hearts of Lions have 4 points after 4 games into the Betpawa Ghana Premier League 2023/2024 season.
The Volta River Authority has warned residents to “expect more spillage” as a result of the Akosombo Dam spill, which has affected nine districts in the Volta Region, including Sogakope. Engineers at the hydro dam say they are unsure of when the exercise will end.
Due to the Akosombo and Kpong hydro dams’ growing water levels, the Volta River Authority started spilling excess water on September 15.
