Nigeria: 17 Year Old Boy Kidnaps and kills 5 Year Old Boy After Collecting Ransom
Elijah Anthony, a 17-year-old secondary school student, has explained why he killed a 5-year-old primary school student, Dawon Pam, from the Bukuru community in Jos South Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The suspect, a neighbor of the victim’s family, admitted that he killed the boy because of economic difficulties. “It was difficulties and suffering that pushed me to commit this crime. I later realized that the victim, my neighbor, had seen my face and could expose me if released.
Recounting how he and his friend kidnapped and murdered the victim, he said: “On October 13 (October), my friend and I planned to kidnap the boy while he was moving and hide him in the house. a building under construction. “When his parents and relatives realized the boy was no longer there, they started looking for him.
I acted like I didn’t know where he was. I even participated in its research. Then we demanded a ransom, and five days later, I killed the boy.
I strangled him to death and buried him,” the suspect added. While parading the suspect with 36 other suspects, the state commissioner of police, Okoro Julius, said the suspect had received a ransom of N400,000 before killing the victim, adding that the police could arrest him after finding the phone number used for negotiations.
The CP also explained that the kidnappers had earlier demanded a ransom of N5 million but received N400,000. “On October 23, 2023, one of the perpetrators, Elijah Anthony, 17 years old, was arrested. Through interrogation, he admitted the crime,” he said.
