Ashantigold secure interlocutory injunction on 2023/24 league season

Ashantigold Sporting Club successfully secured an interlocutory injunction on the commencement of the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League and the start of the football season and served the Ghana Football Association as at Thursday, August 24, 2023.

The move by the Obuasi-based side means the GFA is ordered by the High Court on Civil Procedure to halt all plans to commence the league until a finality of the matter is approved by the Court.

This marks a second attempt by the third most successful Club in the country, Ashantigold Sporting Club to seek redress at the Civil Court having exhausted all internal legal processes as a member to no avail.

Ashantigold Sporting Club have been earlier suspended by the GFA Executive Council before being approved by the Ordinary Congress held in Kumasi last month.

The move has not gone down well with the former Ghanaian Champions and therefore have resorted to the Civil Court for redress.
